New features since Virtual Monitors 2.0 ----Updated 5/26/92 ----------------------------------------------------------- Enhanced user interface! Enhanced Graphic Map - New Look - Easier to see minimized Apps - Now says the name of the window you pick up, at the top of the screen - Use up and down cursor keys to cycle through overlapping windows. Group Manager - Now you can manage your sessions more efficiently - Use a phrase instead of a file name to describe your saved session - Delete saved sessions - Rename saved sessions - Set a default startup session - Close on load option : closes all apps on all monitors, (except #1) Auto Start with Group Select (option) - When VMON starts you can have it ask you which of the saved sessions you want to load. Show Monitor # option (option) - Tells VMON to display the Monitor # under the mouse cursor when it is at rest over an open part of the desktop. VMON Icon System Menu enhanced - Now shows monitor names in system menu! - Many more options and easier to select. Auto Select Feature (option) - Now VMON lets you activate windows, just by moving the mouse cursor over it (Workstation look and feel!) MultiMap (trademark by Federated Telecommunications Corp.) - Allows you to MultiMap Monitor #12 to all monitors. Example: If you want the clock to appear on all monitors, then just turn the multimap option on, move the clock to monitor #12 and now the clock will appear on all monitors. Screen Links (trademark by Federated Telecommunications Corp.) - Now you can create icons that allow you to quickly switch between monitors. Side Switch (trademark by Federated Telecommunications Corp.) - Now you can change monitors by moving the mouse all the way to the left or right side of the screen and clicking the left button. Clutter Control (trademark by Federated Telecommunications Corp.) - Now you can unclutter your desktop by telling Virtual Monitors how many Open Windows you want displayed at one time, and how many Visible Icons. For instance if you set the Open Windows value to 1. Only one application would be opened and all other icons on the monitor would be displayed as icons. By setting the number of visible icons you can limit the number of visible icons on your desktop. You can access these hidden icons through the Virtual Monitors Task/Window List. Enhanced Drag and Drop - When enabled this will enable you to Activate/Restore the window the mouse is over during a Drag operation. This enables you to see the application you are dropping into more easily and completely. Session Saving - Now VMON automaticly recognizes DOS sessions. Window Wizard (trademark by Federated Telecommunications Corp.) - Now you can easily, automatically distribute windows on the current monitor to other monitors by using window wizard. OmniMenu (trademark by Federated Telecommunications Corp.) - Now you can switch to the Virtual Monitors window list from any applications system menu. Easy Time (trademark by Federated Telecommunications Corp.) - Lets you view the current system time in the current applications title bar. System Resources monitor (Easy Rez, trademark by Federated Telecommunications Corp.) - Display your system resources in the caption bar of the currently active window. Hold the right mouse button down on the system resource gauges to display additional information. Mouse Move - Move applications with the mouse by holding down CTRL and ALT and clicking the mouse right or left buttons on the title bar or open part of the menu bar. (SHIFT will bring you along with the application). Right button moves to current screen +1 left to current screen -1. Allows viewing of hidden windows. Reduced required memory amount! Now VMON uses much less non-swappable memory and resources. Shift key can be used during startup to tell Virtual Monitors not to autoload any group. The shift key can be used at closing time to tell VMON not to save the session to the default file.
